Charles Arnoldi
The Organic series was another radical change from Arnoldi’s earlier work. The paintings from this period, from 1996 to 1997, contain amorphous, circular shapes with visible brushstrokes.
Arnoldi comments on this development saying, “I started transforming the cut-out leafy shapes of the Hawaii series into these more amoeba-like, blobby shapes.” He also expanded his color palette toward colors that are not found in nature, like Pepto Bismol pink.
